This relates to the Sandiacre Borehole adjacent to the Methodist Chapel. Original boring reached 371 ft deep but water was too hard. Another boring was made nearby and a good supply was found in the Bunter Sandstone at 45 ft depth. In May 1911 ave daily yield was 120,000 gallons.
