In August 1967, after attending a course on industrial archaeology, we had a day out visiting Bestwood and Papplewick pumping station, near Nottingham. I seem to recall that Bestwood had recently been retired, but was on stand by and was in steam for the day. Papplewick was still working. I have unearthed a selection of shots and this is the first time that I have seen most of them. Bestwood is now apparently a restaurant.
