Says Russ Boyack: This is the 'new' Wolds Reservoir. You can see the outline of the 'old' reservoir. Is part of the Sydnope mains scheme. Wolds Reservoir was halved in size and covered over. It was originally fed by Wolds spring and Palethorpe and Cockoostone. There was a house attached and it was for the reservoir keeper later the Water Engineer for Matlock UDC - Stan Stuart - later District Manager/Engineer North before he moved to Homesford WTW.
