Lesley Brameld White Springs Farm was more commonly known as Jonathan Barkers, it was compulsorily purchased in 1904 to become the source of Darley Dale’s water supply. Jonathan Barker was the grandad of my dad’s friend Charlie Hopkinson, Charlie’s mother was born in the farmhouse, Charlie and his mother lived at Wingate on Darley Hillside.
